ABOUT SKILLMATCH HUB

SkillMatch Hub is a skills-based selection platform. In this phase we are building a pool of Junior, Intermediate and Senior professionals to serve both the internal needs of SkillMatch Hub and the ILS ecosystem and future selection processes on behalf of Italian client companies. We collect and assess applications on the basis of real skills and evidence. The possible presentation of profiles to specific external employers is not yet under way and will take place, for consistent opportunities, through SkillMatch Hub. Being included in the pool does not automatically guarantee a specific opportunity. The selection is open to applicants of all genders.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join SkillMatchub as a Backend Software Engineer and become an integral part of our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing our backend infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of services and robust data protection. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing complex system requirements, designing efficient backend architectures, and implementing business logic with precision and creativity. You will be tasked with developing and managing APIs and services that are foundational to our platform, while also ensuring comprehensive API documentation and technical decision records are maintained.

Your role will be pivotal in fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams, as you work closely with frontend developers, data scientists, AI specialists, QA testers, and DevOps engineers. With a focus on modular architectures, you will manage databases, ensure persistence, and handle authentication and authorization mechanisms effectively. Your expertise will be crucial in integrating both internal and external services, as well as implementing robust logging, error handling, and observability practices. Automated testing will be a key part of your process, ensuring that our software is both reliable and scalable.

We are seeking candidates with a strong foundation in programming languages such as Python, Node.js, Java, or C#, and proficiency in tools and technologies like Git, Docker, GraphQL, Redis, PostgreSQL, and more. A background in computer science or a related field is essential, along with a passion for leveraging technology to drive innovation.
